JOB SUMMARY
LAGOS is seeking a Videographer to join their Creative team to support our initiatives for our growing video, animation, social media, and marketing needs. They will work to understand client requests and implement video projects from start to finish, including storyboard development, scripting, film production, and delivery of the final edit. The ideal candidate has 4 years of experience in filming, directing, and editing video, is skilled in Premiere, and thrives while multitasking and collaborating in a dynamic environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PLANNING AND EXECUTION:
- Collaborate with the creative team and internal clients to plan and execute video shoots.
- Produce impactful videos that align with the brand’s vision.
- Build detailed storyboards in conjunction with the Art Director for video shoots.
FILMING:
- Film videos on set and on location, including tabletop requests, seasonal market videos, training videos, brand stylist videos, and behind-the-scenes footage.
- Ensure that equipment for each shoot is present and functioning.
- Direct other camera operators to acquire the necessary footage.
EDITING:
- Edit seasonal campaign videos, market videos, and training videos, ensuring quick turnover and alignment with advertising requests.
- Resize videos to required specifications and create end cards for social media and advertising.
- Manage corporate Vimeo account, uploading all videos and maintaining brand consistency.
- Conceptualize, produce, and edit short and long-format videos for various platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.
- Select music to accompany edits and manage premium beat subscription.
STUDIO MANAGEMENT:
- Maintain and organize the internal video studio and equipment, including inventory management and scheduling.
- Create video dailies from each shoot and liaise with the creative, marketing, and digital teams to understand editing needs.
- Manage studio schedule when necessary.
CREATIVE DIRECTION:
- Capture the functionality, features, textures, and craftsmanship of LAGOS jewelry through videography.
- Film and edit content featuring key figures such as the brand stylist and creative director for sales meetings, market needs, and campaign shoots.
- By consolidating these sections, the responsibilities are presented in a more streamlined and organized manner, reducing redundancy and enhancing clarity.
JOB/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 4 years of experience in filming, directing, and editing video
- Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, or a related field
- Skilled in Premiere
- Proficient at color grading and matching
- Experience filming and working with jewelry preferred
- Previous experience setting up lighting for production
- Knowledge of post-production techniques and understanding of computer software used for planning, editing, and scripting
- Knowledge of social media video platforms and sizes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clients and members of the production team
- Creative thinking with an excellent eye for detail
- Multitasking skills for working with many crew members at once
- Excellent interpersonal skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Brief periods of standing, bending, reaching and light lifting required
- Ability to lift and carry video and photography equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Stamina and physical endurance to stand, walk, and remain in various positions for extended periods during shoots
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Manual dexterity and steady hands for precise adjustments and handling of equipment
- Good visual acuity, including color and depth perception to ensure accurate image capturing
- Flexibility to work in various locations and environments
- Ability to communicate promptly and accurately via computer, telephone or similar device with or without assistive technology.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs
- Must be able to follow all workplace safety protocols as required while in the corporate office
- May require local/overnight travel to Philadelphia/NYC and other locations as needed for shoots
WORK ENVIRONMENT: CREATIVE SERVICES
- Specific work environments may vary based on project requirements, but the typical conditions you can anticipate is to primarily work with a computer equipped with industry-standard software, high-resolution monitors, and additional tools if needed. The environment often involves working in well-lit studio settings or dedicated post-production spaces. The lighting setup may include a combination of natural light, artificial lighting, and professional studio lighting equipment.
