The Manager, Social Media is responsible for the creation of a content strategy and ultimately oversees the distribution of said content on 49ers and Levi’s® Stadium social handles (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat). This role has a pulse on each of our content pillars and develops content to ‘educate, enlighten, and engage’. The Social Media Manager manages the tone and voice of the brand. This role is important to growing the next generation of Faithful and helping grow the 49ers brand to our existing fan base across our social platforms. This role will develop creative content ideas that drive meaningful cultural connections, identifies new influencers, and continues to build relationships with existing influencers and helps drive revenue through branded partnership and social monetization opportunities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manages content calendar to determine posting across team and stadium channels including breaking news, football content and partnered assets.
- Includes management of live video streams for all football press conferences
- Brainstorms high quality and engaging content to capitalize on relevant cultural and social trends.
- Supports video and design teams in creating templates and graphics for distribution based on platform specifics and best practices.
- Works closely with teams across the organization such as community relations, graphic design, marketing, football operations, and public relations to generate content that helps achieve organizational priorities (i.e. sell tickets, deliver impressions for branded partnered series).
- Manages paid social advertising for key community and Foundation initiatives.
- Analyzes and reviews social media metrics and rankings across competitive set (other NFL clubs, teams in Bay Area) and adjust social content as needed.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of industry trends and monitor potential social media tools, influencers, and fan sentiment throughout the calendar year for content opportunities and recommends those as appropriate.
- Attends and covers all football games and training camp practices as well as community events as needed. Responsible for content capture on phone of said events or football activities, curation and editing of content and publishing the most compelling content while gathering approvals as required.
- Reviews analytics reports for top content across the 49er’s channels and competitive set (league/other teams) and adjusts content types as needed for better performance – i.e. increased reach and engagement.
- Works cross-functionally with business insights team to provide monthly recap reports for partnership fulfillment.

Education and Experience:
- At least 6-8 years’ relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of social media platforms.
- Experience using social media publishing tools (publishing & analytics i.e. Sprout Social, Emplifi, Socialie).

Travel:
20% of local travel time and 5% of intra and interstate travel requiring overnight stay are expected for this position.
Compensation:
$86,000 – $90,000 annually DOE
